Forum discussion: I am trying to connect to work network using supplied Cisco VPN Client 4.8 (meant for XP or 2K) on a machine running Vista. After adding an updated Deterministic Networks VPN I have recently upgraded my laptop from Windows Vista SP1 to Windows 7 Professional. After the upgrade, if I try to use the Cisco VPN client to connect to a network, I get this message: Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 440: Driver Failure. Tried your fix.mst file but having trouble runnning it in command prompt with fix.mst placed in the extracted unzipped cisco folder on desktop. Dec 31, 2011 · Also, a similar issue to the one you are describing was also seen before within Windows Vista and Cisco VPN Client 4.8.02.0010. The TechNet forums thread Cisco VPN Client describes the issue and the solution that worked for the original poster is highlighted in green, while this may not be the answer to your specific problem it would be a good Jun 09, 2006 · Looking for driver for Cisco systems VPN adapter. Get Error 56 after install and attempting to start application. You can also try to run the VPN client manually. You can do so by clicking the start button and then in the run dialog box type services.msc and hit enter. Now the VPN client will start. Another alternate is to remove the Internet connection sharing service. This will help the VPN client to work. Hope this information helps you.
