There are two values; MTU and MSS. MTU is the Maximum Transmission Unit. MSS is the Maximum Segment Size . MSS is always at least 40 less than MTU, so if your MTU is 1452 your MSS must be 1412 or less. This is important. The ideal (and maximum) MTU value for Infinity is 1492, therefore the MSS value should be set to 1452 or less. and on Windows for best performance when on a BT Broadband service?
